67A Prayer For the One That Does Not Pray
This is a prayer for the one that does not pray. This is a prayer that can be said by the one who is not sure if there is a God or not, and if there is, does not know which God is the "real" God. I can't tell you how God will answer this prayer, only that He will, if you mean the words that you say. It may be quick, it may be slow. It may be subtle, it may be direct. But this one thing I know: If you are willing to say this prayer and if you really mean it—then be prepared! For the invitation will be issued—but it is up to you to respond.
To the Unknown God:
I am praying to you right now, on the chance that you do exist. If you really do exist, this is something that I would like to know. And if you are real, I want to know who you really are and what you are really like. There are so many opinions out there about what your name is, what you are like, and how to reach you. I am not interested in opinions—I want the truth. If you are all-knowing, as they say, then you know why I have my reasons to doubt. I'm not looking to be part of a religion—I'm looking to be a part of your family—your true family. If you are all-loving, as they say, then I'm sure you feel compassion for the ways in which I've been hurt before. If you are all-wise, as they say, then I'm sure you have just the right way to reveal yourself to me. I am open to changing my mind—to being changed by you—all I ask for is that YOU be the one to convince me. I don't want to stand upon somebody else's argument; I want to have my own experience of you. I don't want to count on others' reasons for believing, I want to have my own. I have heard it said that if one seeks, he or she will find. This is a step in me in seeking. I don't want to find knowledge about you, based on others' understandings. I want to find YOU. And if you are real, I know you will give me understanding. I hear that there are false gods out there, and if they exist, I am not praying to you, false gods. I am praying to the Real God, whoever you are. Please protect me from being deceived, distracted, hindered, or harmed by these false gods. I seek the God that is True and Real. I seek the God that is personal and will meet me where I am. I don't know all things, but if you are God, then I assume that you must, and therefore it will not be hard for you to reveal truth to me. Give me eyes to see truth and ears to hear truth and a heart that knows and receives truth. If you are all-good as they say, then I can feel confident that you will, in just the perfect way for me, answer this request that I'm praying today.

Fire from heaven or a distortion of light?
Just For Fun
You get to decide what you think about this picture, but I do want to tell you the story behind this photo. I was at a church and we were worshiping God--the presence of God could be tangibly felt in the room--at least by me. I felt like God impressed upon me to take a picture and that I would "see" what was happening in the room. I took three pictures in a row. The first and third picture looked normal. This was the second. I won't tell you what it is or is not. Isn't free will great?

Hi Kristeen--His Word is a GREAT place where He reveals Himself. Regarding the picture, it is possible I could have moved it. But it was interesting to me that I felt impressed to take the picture to "see" and I did 3 clicks in a row--the middle pic is the only one that turned out that way. If you look at the fire closely (which unfortunately is hard to do on this page since it uploaded so small) it looks like there is fire coming off of all the chairs and the people. I understand how the lights on the stage and ceiling could get smeared if the camera moved, but the seats and people that look like fire are interesting. I'm not sure what the picture really captured--but I do know whether my camera got something real that night or not--that I could feel the warm, firey, presence of God that night! Thanks for commenting.

Thanks lifegate, I appreciate your consistent encouragement! It helps me to keep writing. :-) And yes, I agree with what you said about prayer. I see people spending so much time trying to "convince" by intellectual argument that God is "x" or "y" and I love healthy debate and discussion, but it can go off the deep end and get lost in endless circles. If somebody really wants to know about God--I have confidence that God will respond to them if they truly seek Him. :-)

The prayer sounds very much like ones I have said in the past. I always feel that I am contradicting myself praying to a God I don't believe in. I have even told God that I don't believe in Him. So, I've no idea who I am talking to in my prayers.
As to the picture, it looks to me either like a pair of large hands or flames.
@ Muldania: Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! I see your point--but worst case scenario is your are talking out loud to yourself--that's not so bad. Best case scenario, God has heard and will respond! :-)

I don't know about the picture. It looks to me like you moved the camera while taking the picture. I'm curious to hear what you think it might be though.
